The Underglobe recently came alive with a spellbinding, midsummer celebration, blending theatrical flair, fine dining and fairytale wonder.

For one unforgettable evening, 130+ guests, including 40+ children, stepped into a forest of imagination, where towering trees and dripping wisteria danced in mystical hues of lavender, blush, emerald and sapphire.

A green velvet carpet beckoned. Bubbles floated through the air. The entire interior shimmered with projection mapping. And the enthralled crowd felt like they were literally moving between worlds.

The adults dined on roasted halibut with leeks, wild mushrooms, and a creamy mushroom sauce, while the younger guests tucked into golden battered fish, chips and peas – both menus equally indulgent in their own way.

For the non-drinkers, a Peach Dream mocktail looked every bit as glamorous. Plus, homemade lemonade and sparkling elderflower kept the little ones topped up between turns on the dancefloor.

A vast 20ft stage and dancefloor became the beating heart of the evening. Fairy wings flapped. The venue was filled with laughter And the line between fantasy and reality blurred, just as it should at an event like this.
